Dr. Kenneth Aldridge grew up in Birmingham, AL graduating from Huffman High School in 1973. He attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham and pursued an undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences. In the spring of 1977, he graduated from UAB with honors and began medical school that fall.
He graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1981. He completed his Urology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1986, and has practiced Urology in Tuscaloosa, AL ever since.
Dr. Aldridge has served in leadership positions at DCH Regional Medical Center and DCH Northport Medical Center, and in the Tuscaloosa County Medical Society and the Medical Association of the State of Alabama (MASA). He served nine years on the MASA Board of Censors, (including two years as chairman 2008-2010), the State Committee of Public Health (serving as chairman 2008-2010), and the State of Alabama Board of Medical Examiners, which he also chaired from 2008-2010.
He has been active in organized medicine in Alabama for several decades, and through his service on several state committees and boards he has helped develop rules, regulations and policy that have improved patient safety and increased access to healthcare services in the state, including the state’s rules for office-based surgery and the use of lasers in physician offices.
Dr. Aldridge currently serves as the President of the Alabama Quality Assurance Foundation Board of Directors. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Association of Physician Leaders. He continues to practice Urology part-time in Tuscaloosa while serving as the Vice President for Medical Affairs for the DCH Health System.
He is married to Julie Dukes Aldridge, and is the proud father of three children and one son-in-law: Callie (Jake), Caroline and Will.
