In an effort to provide support to the students of the University of Alabama School of Medicine, the Medical Alumni Association’s Medical Student Assistance fund fills a gap in the needs of medical students, which is not met by any other support structures.
Inevitable periods of crisis occur in the lives of human beings. Financial support during periods of unexpected health issues or other problems is sometimes needed. These funds will go towards helping students who are faced with such unforeseen predicaments. Otherwise, these situations could become insurmountable obstacles for future physicians with great academic potential. This fund could mean the difference between success and failure with some of our students. Any donation made to the Medical Alumni Association is tax deductible since the MAA is a 501c organization, and EVERY dollar contributed to the Student Assistance Funds will go DIRECTLY to medical student needs.
